Question: Why shouldn’t I do a Thin Vinyl Plank?

The thinner vinyl planks, (4mm and under) often have a myriad of faults that can make them subpar for your home. They often have a clicking or hollow sound if the subfloor isn’t prepared to an adequate degree. They wear layer is often lower so the flooring is easier to scratch. Thinner vinyl’s have a less robust locking system and often can unclick and fall apart over time. Thinner vinyl planks often do a worse job of hiding minor dips and imperfections in your subfloor that may appear over time.
